Swiftqueue Appointment Booking

Swiftqueue Appointment Booking can also be referred to as Direct Booking or On-demand Booking.

  • This is where capacity is specified, and access is on a first come first served basis.
  • On-demand service (Direct booking) can be accessed directly through a Hospital or Community Clinic web page, where a button will provide the pathway to the Swiftqueue service, to book a time that best suits the patient or citizen.

An alternative to a direct booking would be a self-referral to the same type of clinic where set capacity is offered, and slots can be accessed via a qualifying questionnaire on the self-referral form.

Swiftqueue Solution Overview

  • The clinic defines the capacity in terms of bays/rooms and the appointment duration.
  • Swiftqueue creates a web access to a 'Book an Appointment' button on the hospital website and patients were given access to time slots to book appointments.
  • In addition to the patient choosing their own preferred appointment time, they also had access to their own Patient Portal, allowing them to view all their active appointments and to book an appointment for a family member (child, parent, friend etc) if required.
  • A reminder email and/or SMS was automatically triggered to the patient, and the patients checked in on arrival at a Kiosk.
  • The check-in time, waiting time and seen time were all captured, and end of day reports were automated.
  • The platform manages a mix of scheduled care and walk-in appointments which also covers the possibilities of inpatient referrals.
  • The capacity can be set/adjusted to manage a level of walk-in patients, but most patients prefer to book and have a slot that suits them.
